Computer Assistance & Tutorials

For those who wish to increase their computer knowledge, the library offers computer tutorials. During the summer months, if grants are available, the library employs local youth to work at the library. One of his/her duties is to assist patrons with aspects of computer technology, in particular, the Internet. For the rest of the year, there are other part time students working at the library that may do computer tutorials upon request (see staff for available days and times). Throughout the year these students are available on Fridays and Saturdays (between 4 and 5:30 p.m.) if you wish to organize a computer tutorial with them.

To do this, you should contact the library to schedule a one-on-one appointment. Each session, with or without training, is limited to 25 minutes. The tutorials are usually free in the summer; however, for the remainder of the year there is a charge of $5.00 per session.

If you wish to book a tutorial, you may see staff at the library, call them at 613.756.2000 or e-mail them at bblibry@bellnet.ca  advising them of your name and contact information, your preferred area of focus (ex. e-mail, Internet, subscription databases or other library computer initiatives, word processing, etc.), and the day and time most suitable for your tutorial.  Note the different days and times for year-round tutorials and summer tutorials respectively.
